The American Automobile Association predicts an increase in travel for Americans this Memorial Holiday weekend. They forecast 34.8 million of us will travel 50 miles or more from home during the holiday–that’s an increase of 1.2 percent, or half a million travelers.
The association said a survey of travelers found that 53 percent said recent increases in the price of gasoline would not impact their Memorial Day travel plans. The other forty-seven percent said gas prices would affect their plans. Many travelers plan to economize in areas such as entertainment and lower-priced hotels.
