Since a wastewater line burst underneath Camelia Lake in the Elkins Lake subdivision in late April, the lake water level has been down. The water level was lowered to enable crews to fix the line. Most of the repairs were completed as of yesterday. The lake level, however, will remain down for a couple more weeks as the City decides on how to move forward.
Interim City Manager Chuck Pinto has told the media that refilling the lake will likely be a decision made by the Huntsville City Council, after the cost factors have been determined.
