Chamber Recognizes Several Citizens at Friday’s Gala

Poncho and Sugar Roberts were awarded the Mance Park Lifetime Achievement Award at Friday night’s annual Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce Holiday Gala held at SHSU’s Lowman Student Center Ballroom.  They were the 16th recipients of the award.  The 2012 Chair of the Board, Tommy Stewart, made the presentation of the award to the Roberts.

Bill Hodges, a former mayor and business owner, was given the Edwin G. Sandhop Jr. Spirit of Huntsville award.

Friday night, the gavel was officially passed to the new chairman of the board, Cindy Pierce, with Heartfield Florist.

Community service awards were given to Jean Babcock, Sherry Ingram, Dr. Steve Johnson, Dr. Dana Gibson, Michelle Hebert, Cindy Pierce, Dolores Moreno, and Doris Gimpel.
