The Huntsville City Council meets for a regular session tonight at six at City Hall.

HISD Superintendent, Dr. Steve Johnson, will make a presentation on the Bring Your Own Technology Initiative. TxDOT will also have a presentation on local projects.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes approval of an ordinance setting rates and cost of service adjustment with CenterPoint Energy, and consideration of the purchase of one tractor and two zero-turn mowers.

There are several items on tonight’s “Statutory Agenda.” There will be possible action to authorize the interim city manager to apply for a Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Recreation grant for installation of restrooms at the Splash Pad. Councilmembers will also consider authorizing applying for the 2012 SAFER grant for four firefighters. They will also discuss possibly entering into contracts for emergency vegetative debris management grinding services. Authorization of the interim city manager to enter into a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contract will be considered.

Standing items on tonight’s City Council agenda include selection of a permanent city manager, discussion of the Fiscal Year 2012-13 Budget, and discussion of the proposed SHSU Research Park.

Interim City Manager Chuck Pinto will file his report updating city grants, projects, purchases, economic development, and the budget.
