City Council Meets Tonight

The Huntsville City Council meets for a regular session tonight at six at City Hall.

Previous to the regular session, a workshop on business retention and recruitment by the Buxton company and director of Works Aron Kulhavy will be held.

The council will hold a public hearing during their regular meeting tonight on a request for a change in the zoning classification of Block 3 of the G-A White Subdivision from Neighborhood Conservation to Management. Later in the evening, councilmembers will vote on the issue.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes consideration of a proposed rate increase filed by Centerpoint with the Texas Railroad Commission on July 2nd, 2012 to increase gas rates.

Director of Utilities Carol Reed will discuss the Elkins Lake raw water contract.

Councilmembers will discuss authorizing the Acting City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Buxton company for a retail recruitment and retention solution.

Mayor Mac Woodward will discuss taking possible action to approve a resolution in support of HOT funding for the SHSU playoff season. The mayor will also update the current effort to select a new city manager.
