Commissioners Approve A/C Replacement at Jail Facility

Published on September 18, 2012 by Larry Crippen

Walker County Commissioners met for a special session Monday afternoon to approve purchase of a replacement air conditioning unit for the County Jail building facility.

The original estimate was around $10,000 dollars, but that was just for the unit itself–more was required for turn-key A/C operation. Jail Administrator, Captain Steve Fisher explained to Commissioners . . . .

The new total was $18,890 dollars, which Commissioners approved. Enough funds are available in combining a transfer of funds within and between the Jail and Sheriff’s budgets.

Captain Fisher said parts from the old A/C unit will be kept to use as replacement parts in the future.
