Walker County Commissoners meet for a regular session this morning at nine at the Courthouse.
At this morning’s meeting, Maintenance Director Ken Nabors will discuss approval of a building automation system for the Walker County Sheriff’s department and, from budgeted funds, the approval of the purchase of lifts.
Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis will talk about approval of Strategic Highway Safety Plan money of $59,000 dollars to be spent on a 2010 allocation.
Purchasing Agent Mike Williford will discuss approval of radio equipment for the Pine Prairie Volunteer Fire Department paid from budgeted funds and repayment of 30% through a Memorandum of Understanding with the Pine Prairie Volunteer Fire Department.
Planning and Development Director Andy Isbell will discuss regulations for floodplain management.
Commissioners Court will discuss and possibly approve guaranteeing the maximum price for the construction of the new county jail and authorize the County Judge to execute the Guaranteed Maximum Price amendment. They will also discuss and possibly approve the notice to proceed with construction to Sedalco Construction Services for the construction of the new County Jail and authorize the County Judge to execute the notice to proceed.
Commissioners will also look at purchasing a Mack truck for $10,000 dollars from the New Waverly Fire Department and discuss a fireworks ban.
