Council Continues Discussion of $1.8 Million Dollar FEMA Grant

Published on October 01, 2012 by Larry Crippen

This afternoon at 5:30 the Huntsville City Council will convene in a “Special Session” to continue discussion of an amendment in regard to applying for a $1.8 million dollar grant from FEMA for a Community Safe Room, or tornado shelter, which will also be used as a facility for the Walker County Boys & Girls Club. Approval would authorize the Interim City Manager to sign an updated Memorandum of Understanding and Use agreement with the Walker County Boys & Girls Club.

Councilmembers will also meet in closed Executive Session to consult with counsel on legal matters, including, but not limited to, the proposed FEMA tornado shelter project.
