County Approves Interlocal Agreement for Capital Case Public Defender

At Monday’s session of Walker County Commissioners, Attorney Jack Stoffregen was before Commissioners to discuss approval of an interlocal agreement with Lubbock County acting through the Regional Public Defender for capital cases. The agreement would provide for various capital murder public defender and personnel costs . . . .

The agreement does not provide defense for tdcj offenders who are charged with murder while incarcerated.

Stoffregen filled everyone in on the costs involved. . . .

He passed along the graduated costs for a projected five-year period.

Commissioners approved the interlocal agreement.
