At last Monday’s Commissioners’ Court, Walker County Clerk Kari French talked about various issues her department was dealing with.
She said the clerks in the Deed Room “are having to spend a majority of their time watching and standing at the door to manage the room, coordinating when and who goes on break first, and attempting to insure the records are protected.” She said, “They are not able to do their jobs of what they were hired to do in the Deed Room.”
Ms. French said most researchers have been helpful, but they are “still having pages written-on, torn, missing, and books not being put back in the proper order . . . .”
