The Academy of Country Music has made a $750,000 contribution to ACM Lifting Lives on behalf of the artists who participated in the taping of ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends – In Concert. The special was filmed in Las Vegas in April, wrapping up ACM Awards week. Ticket proceeds from the taping also went to ACM Lifting Lives.
“We thank these incredible artists for donating their time and talents to make it possible for ACM Lifting Lives to continue the good work of improving lives through the power of music,” Mark Hartley, Chairman of ACM Lifting Lives, said.
Lionel Richie was joined byJason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Sara Evans, The Band Perry, Big Rich, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Blake Shelton and Marc Anthony during the concert. More than 8 million viewers tuned in when it premiered on CBS in April.
ACM Lifting Lives is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music, dedicated to improving lives through music. Each year, the organization provides grants to music therapy and music education programs. It also supports members of the country music community facing unexpected medical or financial hardship.
