ACM Announces Changes to New Artist of the Year Category

The Academy of Country Music has announced changes to the ACM New Artist Award for this year’s ACM Awards. The ACM will honor three individual newcomers in the categories of New Male Vocalist, New Female Vocalist and New Vocal Duo or Group with the winners of each category competing for the overall New Arist of the Year Award. The overall winner will be revealed live during the 48th Annual ACM Awards next spring at a date to be announced later.

The top three artists from the first round of ACM professional voting will be finalists in each of the three New Artist categories. Fans will then help decide the winners via voting at Their votes will combine with the ACM professional membership vote to determine the winner in each category. Fan and ACM professional members will gain have the chance to vote to determine the New Artist of the Year winner.
