ACM Lifting Lives has announced Zac Brown Band’s Camp Southern Ground as the August theme for its monthly ‘My Cause.’ The web feature brings awareness to artist-supported charitable organizations. It also supports fundraising efforts for those organizations. To watch the web feature, visit www.ACMLiftingLives.org.
Zac Brown was inspired to create Camp Southern Ground based on his experiences growing up as a camp counselor. The camp is comprised of 500 acres of farmland in Zac’s home state of Georgia. Its mission is to aid children in overcoming academic, social and emotional hurdles and provide them with the opportunity and tools to achieve excellence. The camp is set to open in the spring of 2015. Fans can donate by using the link available in the video found here.
At this year’s ACM Awards, ACM Lifting Lives encouraged artists to speak on camera about the causes they support. My Causes allows ACM Lifting Lives to demonstrate the Academy’s support of country artists. Over the past two years, ACM Lifting Lives has donated more than $45,000 to artists’ favorite charities and will again make donations.
ACM Lifting Lives is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through music. Each year, the organization provides grants to music therapy and music education programs. It also supports members of the country music community facing unexpected medical or financial hardship.
