Blake Shelton has teamed up with JC Penney to support our servicemen and women. After honoring troops at a sold out show in Watertown, New York on July 6, he announced his partnership with JCP Cares, a new program that kicked off with a $1 million donation from JC Penney along with donations raised by customers through the month of July to the USO.
“Supporting the USO is second nature to me,” Blake said. “My dad was a Korean War veteran. My brother was a veteran of the Army. It’s a charity that’s near and dear to my heart.”
In addition to their donation, JC Penney will also donate $1.00 to the USO for each customer that checks into a JC Penney store via Foursquare from July 23-31, up to $50,000. Blake will continue to support JCP Cares throughout the year, serving as their ambassador.
To thank local troopers, JC Penney provided over 300 complimentary tickets to soldiers and their families for Blake’s concert. They were also able to meet with Blake backstage. See photos from the check presentation HERE.
