Blake Shelton, Three Others Join CMA Awards Performance Lineup

Blake Shelton, a nominee for entertainer of the year, has joined the
CMA Awards performance lineup, along with the Eli Young Band, Brantley
and Lady Antebellum.

Shelton received four CMA Awards
nominations this year, including a shared nomination for song of the year for “Over You” with wife Miranda

Only a handful of married couples have penned song of the year nominees: “Mommas Don’t Let Your Babies
Grow Up to Be Cowboys” (Ed and Patsy Bruce in 1978), “Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind” (Sanger D. “Whitey” Shafer” and
third wife Darlene Shafer in 1985) and “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” (Shafer and fourth wife Lydia Shafer in 1987). Tammy Wynette
and George Richey wrote “‘Til I Can Make It on My Own” with Billy Sherrill, which was nominated for song of the year in 1976,
but Wynette and Richey did not marry until 1978.

Shelton is also nominated for male vocalist and single of the year
for “God Gave Me You.”

Meanwhile, the Eli Young Band mark their first career CMA nomination, landing in the vocal group
category. Their hit “Even if It Breaks Your Heart” (written by Will Hoge and Eric Paslay) will compete for song of the year,
an award presented to the songwriters.

In addition, Brantley Gilbert is nominated in the new artist category, while
Lady Antebellum will vie for the vocal group award, as well as album of the year for Own the Night.

performers include Lambert, Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, the Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric
Church, Kelly Clarkson, Little Big Town and co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

The CMA Awards will air Nov.
1 on ABC. The show takes place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
