Darius Rucker has established himself as a successful solo artist in the country music genre, but he is still part of Hootie The Blowfish. Darius tells Billboard that while making country music is his priority, the band isn’t quite done yet.
“There’s one more Hootie record and tour that we’re going to do,” he said. “I don’t know when, because country music is my day job – it’s what I want to do.”
Fans might be surprised to know the band still gets together and plays shows on occasion. “We’ll probably always be a band,” Darius said. “We’ve got two shows in August, we do about four or five dates a year. We’ll do another album and tour for a year, then I’ll be right back to this music.”
