GAC Series The Definitive Showcases Past & Present NASCAR Stars

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will be the subject of the August 29, 2012 episode of The Definitive.

Fans will get a look at the qualities that delineate the lives and careers of some of NASCAR’s past and present star drivers on The Definitive airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern , beginning August 29, on Great American Country.  Host Trace Adkins guides viewers through episodes that will reveal the defining moments of each driver’s career with archival footage, photos and interviews with NASCAR Hall of Famers as well as stories from drivers that traded paint with them along the way.

Episodes include:

The Definitive: Dale Earnhardt Jr.:(August 29) Earnhardt Jr. is one of NASCAR’s biggest stars, a third-generation driver and son of legendary seven-time NASCAR Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt. Now in his 13th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is currently in the midst of one of his best seasons ever and is battling to take home his first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title. The Definitive: Dale Earnhardt Jr. will explore the challenges he’s faced throughout his career and document his rise to popularity and fame as NASCAR’s nine-time Most Popular Driver Award winner.

The Definitive: Kyle Busch:  (September 5) Kyle Busch keeps his racing philosophy simple: win or go home. One of the most animated drivers in the sport today, Busch burst onto the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series scene in 2005 and has not slowed down since winning Rookie of the Year that season. The Definitive: Kyle Busch will explore the attributes that make up a man that is widely considered one of most dynamic drivers in all of NASCAR and why his “win at all costs” attitude has carried him to the pinnacle of racing in all three NASCAR series.

The Definitive: Jimmie Johnson: (September 12) Jimmie Johnson is the only NASCAR driver to win five straight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships, and is just the third driver with five or more total championships, joining Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt in that elite class. This show will explore the wide range of his life experiences and reveals the traits that make up this future Hall of Famer, including his relationships with Jeff Gordon, Rick Hendrick, and crew chief Chad Knaus.

The Definitive: Darrell Waltrip: (September 19) Named one of “The 50 Greatest Drivers in NASCAR History” by NASCAR panelists in 1998, Darrell Waltrip was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2012. Waltrip dominated the sport in the 1980s, winning three NASCAR Cup Series titles in ’81, ’82 and ’85, and ultimately finishing his career with  84 wins, tying him for fourth all-time with fellow Hall of Famer Bobby Allison. Throughout his career, he picked up the nickname “Jaws” because of his outspoken demeanor and candor. The Definitive:  Darrell Waltrip will explore the life of one of the best NASCAR drivers of all-time, why he was one of the sport’s most entertaining personalities and how his success on the track translated into his success as a NASCAR analyst in the television booth.

The Definitive: Allisons: (September 26) The Allisons are one of the most famous and storied families in the history of NASCAR. This episode will delve into the triumphs and tragedies of this legendary family of racers. The Definitive:  Allisons will explore their lives and the talent passed down from generation to generation that makes them one of the most successful families in NASCAR history, as well as the adversity they had to overcome to stick together as a family.
