Garth Brooks has been added to the previously-announced lineup for “Teachers Rock,” reports The Examiner. Previously announced artists include Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley as well as Fun, Josh Groban, Usher, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, and Maroon 5‘s James Valentine and Adam Levine. The concert special will air live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. August 14 at 8/7 p.m. CT on CBS.
In addition to musicians, several actors will also be taking part in the special. Morgan Freeman, Meryl Streep, Matthew Morrison, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Miranda Cosgrove and Jennifer Garner are all scheduled to attend.
‘Teachers Rock’ is a charity event celebrating teachers and education. Teach for America, Feeding America and DonorsChoose.org will benefit from the concert. The special will also feature scenes from the upcoming movie Won’t Back Down starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis as mothers who fight to make a difference in their children’s future.
