If You Bet a Taylor Swift Sweep Again, You Won

Taylor Swift
Yep. It’s the same old story. Taylor Swift continues to maintain her
perch atop Billboard‘s country charts, with Red boasting its fifth week as the No. 1 album and “We
Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
its eighth as the crowing song.

That ovation you hear is for Cassadee Pope’s
operatic rendering of “Over You,” which enters the songs chart at an astounding No. 3. This is the same song Blake
and Miranda Lambert co-wrote and that Lambert sang to No.
1 in May of this year.

Pope gained Shelton’s attention as a contestant on The Voice, and her interpretation
of “Over You,” a tribute to Shelton’s late brother, reportedly
brought the tall Oklahoman to tears.

The other new songs are George
‘s “Give It All We Got Tonight” (No. 25) and Lady Antebellum’s
“A Holly Jolly Christmas” (No. 48).

tunes return to the list: Gloriana’s “Can’t
Shake You”
(No. 43), Lauren Alaina’s “Eighteen Inches” (No. 47) and
Jason Aldean’s “When She Says Baby” (No. 50).

There are three new
albums: Uncle Kracker’s Midnight Special (No. 33), the multi-artist
collection Christmas in the Country (No. 70) and Slidawg’s Slidawg’s Redneck Christmas (No. 74).

at No. 67 is Strait’s Here for a Good Time.

The No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 songs, in that order, are Florida
Georgia Line
‘s “Cruise,” Luke
‘s “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” and Hunter
‘ “Wanted.”

Following Red within the Top 5 albums
cluster are Aldean’s Night Train, Carrie Underwood’s Blown
, Shelton’s Cheers, It’s Christmas and Lady Antebellum’s
On This Winter’s Night.

Anybody know what the hell a “holly jolly Christmas” is? Don’t wish it if you can’t
define it.
