CHICAGO — Everything is starting to change for Jason Aldean. Except one
thing — his show. That won’t change, no matter how many people he’s playing for.

“I think for me, onstage, your show
is your show. It’s gonna be what it is,” he told CMT.com in an interview Thursday (Oct. 18) in Wrigley Field’s right
field, where he will play on July 20.

“The way you go about playing your show is always the same,” he said of his first
stadium tour. “You wanna go out and give it 100 percent every night, whether you’re playing a stadium or a little theater
somewhere.”

Revealing plans for the Chicago concert that will also feature Kelly
Clarkson
and Jake Owen, Aldean made the stop at Wrigley Field after
making a similar announcement earlier in the day at Boston’s Fenway Park. Miranda
Lambert
and Owen will be joining Aldean for that July 13 show. At least one more stadium show is expected to be confirmed
for his Night Train tour.

Aldean knows that jumping from the roughly 30,000 fans he played for this summer in Chicago
to the roughly 42,000 he will play for next summer in the Friendly Confines will give him a completely different perspective.

“From
an energy standpoint, just looking out and seeing this place and knowing we’re here in center field playing, that’ll take
us to a whole new level,” he said.

The idea for taking his show to that next level was something that had been on his
mind for a while.

“It was something we’d tossed around,” he said. “But when you talk about stadiums, it’s one thing
to talk about it and another thing to actually put it into motion and then watch it become a reality. It was on our radar,
and we were gonna try to work our way to it. But at the same time, you don’t want to get ahead of yourself.”

The turnouts
he’s had in Chicago, though, ultimately gave Aldean the confidence to make Wrigley Field a reality. And during the press conference,
he emphasized what an honor it is to know he’s going to be playing on one of the most iconic baseball fields.

“There’s
a lot of places we could’ve gone and played,” he said while wearing a Cubs sweatshirt, jeans and his signature cowboy hat.
“But for us, it was more about playing places that meant something to me, being a huge baseball fan.

“We’re looking
forward to next summer, and we’re gonna have a couple friends of mine along for the show: Miss Kelly Clarkson and Jake Owen
and a new act that we’re gonna be working with next year named Thomas Rhett.”

Aldean
thanked Chicago and, more specifically, the Chicago Cubs, for “letting us at least take over for one night.”
