GAC sends congratulations to Love and Theft’s Eric Gunderson and his wife Emily who are expecting their first child on May 18, 2013, reports Taste of Country. The couple is eagerly anticipating the little one’s arrival.

“I’m pretty excited,” Eric said. “I’ve wanted to be a father forever, and now I feel like we’re in a place in our career where it won’t be the most nerve-wracking thing ever. I feel like I can support a family now. It will be good. We’re really excited.”

Emily, currently 13 weeks pregnant, is hoping the new addition takes after Eric, at least in one respect. “I’m beyond excited to share another journey through life with my best friend and husband,” she said. “I pray not only for a healthy baby, but for a baby that is as talented in music as his sweet and handsome father!”

The couple still has a few weeks to wait before they can find out the baby’s gender, but Eric is kind of hoping for a boy. “Obviously, I’m just hoping for a healthy baby,” he said. “But I was the oldest in my family and I was a boy,” he said. “I think it was cool for my sister to always have an older brother. I think I’d like to have a boy first and then a little girl, but I’ll take whatever I get!”

Love and Theft just released their new single, “Runnin’ Out of Air.” It is the follow up to “Angel Eyes,” the duo’s first No. 1.
