This week’s episode of Noteworthy at the Opry will celebrate Loretta Lynn’s 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Premiering Saturday, October 27 at 9p|8c, Loretta will perform “You Ain’t Woman Enough” and will be joined by Trace Adkins on “Lead Me On” and Pistol Annies, Lee Ann Womack and Loretta’s sister Crystal Gayle for “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
Other tribute performances during the show include Carrie Underwood’s “You’re lookin’ At Country,” Miranda Lambert’s “Honky Tonk Girl,” Lee Ann Womack’s “I Know How,” and Crystal Gayle’s “Don’t Come Home A Drinkin’.”
Carrie, Miranda, Trace, Sara Evans and Kix Brooks will also share what Loretta means to them and tell stories about Loretta. “She was a mama and a housewife but she didn’t sing somebody else’s songs,” Miranda said. “She sang her own songs about that stuff.”
“I was doing an interview and I was very engaged and somebody walked up behind me and smacked me on the rear,” Carrie said, sharing the story of the first time she met Loretta which was appropriately backstage at the Opry. “That was my introduction to Loretta Lynn; she spanked me.”
