out of the spotlight.)
Keith Urban is on the cover of the August/September
issue of GQ. But it’s the Australia GQ. So I have no idea how you’d get your hands on it, unless maybe you start
a subscription immediately.
But I can tell you this. He talks openly about how The Voice (again, in Australia)
is what has finally made him famous Down Under.
best thing about it has been the chance for people in Australia to get to know me. My music doesn’t really get played here
despite it having a lot of appeal elsewhere, so I’ve found myself without an outlet for my songs because of various narrow
stereotypes and perceptions about me,” he said.
It’s hard to believe that his homeland doesn’t have him on the country
music pedestal that America does, but he credits the reality show with giving him a chance to connect in a different way.
“I hope now people check out the gigs because that’s the real show for me,” he said. “And it ain’t played on a planet
of 10-gallon hats.”
The magazine even says that Urban is now one of the most admired country gents in the country.
And that he walked into the magazine interview holding his daughter Faith’s hand. I hope the photographer took a few shots
of that, because to me, that’s just the kind of trait that makes Urban such an admired gent.
