OFFSTAGE: Keith Urban’s Road Trip Soundtrack Spans Almost Four Decades

Published on November 15, 2012 by CMT News

Keith Urban
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and
out of the spotlight.)

Well, if I wasn’t planning on going to see Keith
Urban
in concert, I am now. Have you seen this video he put together
with his tourmates, Little Big Town and Dustin
Lynch
? I’ll give you the gist of it here: Urban and Lynch climb into the front seat of an old sedan, and all four members
of Little Big Town get in the back seat. The car’s radio is broken, so they decide to make their own music for their road
trip. It ranges from a Queen hit from almost 40 years ago to an unreleased tune off Jason
Aldean
‘s latest album. It’s a fun little journey down memory lane. But more than that, it establishes that Urban is definitely
bringing some of the best voices in country on tour with him in 2013, when it kicks off in July. Here are the songs they’re
singing:

1984 — Wham! “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”
1986 — Bon Jovi, “Livin’ on a Prayer”
1985 — Starship,
“We Built This City”
1988 — Poison, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”
1992 — Sir Mix-a-Lot “Baby Got Back”
1983 — Culture
Club, “Karma Chameleon”
1975 — Queen, “Bohemian Rhapsody”
2012 — Jason Aldean, “1994″
2011 — LMFAO, “Party Rock
Anthem”
1992 — Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog, “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang”
2010 — Rihanna, “Only Girl (In the World)”
