OFFSTAGE: Little Big Town’s Fall Shopping Advice: Leather’s Like Vinyl

Published on September 12, 2012 by CMT News

Little Big Town
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and
out of the spotlight.)

You’d think they’d be all bikini tops and short shorts and coozies to celebrate their No.
1 song, “Pontoon.” But that’s not at all what Little
Big Town
‘s Karen Fairchild will be wearing this fall. Think more like leather and fur and rhinestones and oxblood. It’s all on this Womanista.com
blog
, written by Lady Antebellum vocalist Charles Kelley’s wife
Cassie. It looks like Fairchild detailed everything she’ll be adding to her already vast wardrobe in the coming months. “Collecting
leather jackets is like collecting favorite albums on vinyl. They never go out of style and they only get better with time.
I’ll wear them with denim, but I’ll also throw it over a cocktail dress,” she told Kelley. As for footwear, Fairchild admits
to being a long-time bootie lover, and that one of her current faves is the Isabel Marant Milwaukee western boot because it
feels Nashville-inspired. “Every country girl needs these,” she said. Her shopping list also includes embellished things (like
these $428 Rebecca Minkoff pants with rhinestone and satin detailing). She also likes fur, probably the faux kind. And oxblood
(the color), which Fairchild advises can be used as a wardrobe staple. “It’s easy to mix in with black, navy and looks heavenly
with greys and charcoals,” she promises. Maybe, though, don’t wear all the leather, fur, rhinestones, booties and oxblood
all at once. That’s my own personal style tip for fall.
