This massive Kenny Chesney/Tim
McGraw tour you’ve been hearing all about didn’t happen overnight. In fact, McGraw says it took years. According
to The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville, the two stars have been trying for years to make their schedules work
to pull it off. In the interview, McGraw also revealed that he and Chesney will spend a good portion of the show onstage together,
perhaps even singing each other’s hits. That alone has me counting down the days — 15 — until the tour comes to Chicago.
I can just hear McGraw doing “She Thinks My Tractor’s
Sexy” or Chesney singing “Please Remember Me” (which I’ve
heard him say is his favorite song of McGraw’s). But before they get together for that part of the show, they each do their
own thing. “I think probably everyone thought the most difficult thing was going to be who was going to go on last, and for
me, that wasn’t a difficulty at all,” McGraw said. “Kenny has gone out and done this kind of tour for years, and it just made
sense that I would go first.” The Brothers of the Sun tour visits Nashville’s LP Field on Saturday (June 23).
