Taylor Swift’s RED Tour is off to a great start. The tour kicks off March 13 with a two-night stand in Omaha, Nebraska and she’s already sold out 14 of the initial dates that went on sale, including three stadiums. With dates announced and tickets sold, Taylor now has to plan out her live show.
“I think planning a tour is the most amazing puzzle you get to put together,” Taylor said. “You pick the songs for the set list in terms of which songs the people seem to like the most, which the fans are craving hearing live and so you take those songs and you figure out how to put them onstage in a theatrical way to tell that story. And you do it with characters, you do it with scenery, you do it with pyro and effects.”
Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour was an impressive production that played more than a hundred shows worldwide and earned critical praise. Topping it is a challenge but it’s a challenge Taylor is ready to face head on. “How do we do this and how do we top what we did last?” she said. “I don’t know but I’m gonna try to figure it out.”
After almost instant sell outs the first week tickets went on sale, Taylor added three more dates to the RED Tour. She will now play a total of 62 shows, including 11 stadium shows, in 45 cities in 29 states and 3 provinces in 2013. Visit TaylorSwift.com for a complete list of tour dates and ticket information.
