Taylor Swift Makes Chart News With Latest Lyrical Declaration

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift taps country music on the shoulder this week — just to
remind it who the lady of the house is.

Her insanely catchy “We
Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
soars into Billboard‘s country songs chart at a sizzling No 13. Obviously,
no bad luck there.

Arriving at the top of that chart after a 16-week trek is Blake
Shelton
‘s “Over.” As expected, the Zac
Brown Band
‘s Uncaged comes back to crown the albums chart after a week out of pocket.

There is but one new
album: Corb Lund’s Cabin Fever climbs aboard at No. 51.

Blackberry
Smoke
‘s The Whippoorwill returns to the rankings at an impressive No. 8.

New songs abound — five of them
in addition to Swift’s. They are the Eli Young Band’s “Say Goodnight”
(No. 49), Dierks Bentley’s “Tip It on Back” (No. 50), D. Vincent Williams’
“Down by the River” (No. 56), Gwen Sebastian’s “Met Him in a Motel Room” (No. 59) and Steve
Holy
‘s “Hauled Off and Kissed Me” (No. 60).

The No. 2 through No. 5 albums are Carrie
Underwood
‘s Blown Away, Luke Bryan’s Tailgates Tanlines,
Colt Ford’s Declaration of Independence (last week’s No. 1) and Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee.

Clustered directly behind “Over”
within the Top 5 songs spread are Love and Theft’s “Angel
Eyes”
(last week’s No. 1), Little Big Town’s “Pontoon,”
Josh Turner’s “Time
Is Love”
and Gloriana’s “(Kissed
You) Good Night,”
in that order.

Now the big question: Will the first Christmas album chart before the temperature
in your neighborhood dips below 100 degrees?
