Taylor Swift’s schedule has her hopping all over the map. After performing at the European Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany where she also picked up three awards, she headed to Los Angeles for the American Music Awards last Sunday night [See photos from the AMAs HERE]. From there, she’s making her way to Tokyo where she’ll spend Thanksgiving.
“It’s gonna be interesting trying to find turkey there,” she said. “That’s kinda how my life goes. Wherever I’m gonna be I’m gonna be. I know that when I am putting out a record all bets are off. I just put my head down and wake up when they tell me to and I just do what I’m told… like, a lot. That sounds depressing but I kinda think it’s fun.”
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the past year and give thanks , but Taylor tries to practice expressing gratitude year round, even when she’s exhausted. While she’s on top of the charts today, she knows all of that could all be gone tomorrow.
“It’s hard work but it’s also my childhood dream,” she said. “I also keep a tight grasp on the fact that careers end every day. It is possible for you to say the wrong thing, do the wrong, have a bad, like, stroke of luck and it could be over so why not appreciate every single day while you have it ‘cause there’s no guarantee for anything.”
Taylor picked up the American Music Award for Favorite Female Country Artist Sunday night and also gave a high-energy performance of her song “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lady Antebellum also picked up awards [Read our AMA story HERE].
