The Civil Wars End Tour Due to "Internal Discord"

The Civil Wars
The Civil Wars have canceled all of their tour dates, according to a message
posted on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 6). The Grammy-winning duo cited “internal discord and irreconcilable
differences of ambition” in the posting as the reason for the cancelations.

They were in the midst of a European tour
when the announcement was made.

“We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something
we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition, we are unable to continue as
a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love and support. Our sincere hope is to
have new music for you in 2013,” said the posting, which was attributed to both members, Joy Williams and John Paul White.

In
a note at the end of the message, the duo also offered to reimburse fans for travel expenses that may be incurred due to their
“abrupt cancelations.”

As previously announced, the duo will release a VH1 Unplugged EP next week. They were
also featured with Taylor Swift on “Safe
Sound,”
a track from the Hunger Games film soundtrack.

In February, the Civil Wars won Grammys for
best country duo/group performance for “Barton Hollow” as
well as folk album of the year for the album of the same name. They were named duo/group of the year at the recent Americana
Music Honors and Awards in Nashville and were also nominated in the vocal duo category at the CMA Awards last week.
