You’re invited to join the City of Huntsville Recreation Services at Kate Barr Ross Park this Saturday, June 30th, to celebrate the Fourth of July with family entertainment and a large-scale fireworks show.
According to City of Huntsville Recreation Coordinator Kimberly Barnes, the Fourth of July celebration will be a free and safe event for the entire family. Family entertainment will commence at 4 p.m. with the fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m., or at dark, weather permitting.
Barnes said, “Enjoy family entertainment with a rock wall, face painter, balloon art, moonwalks, and karaoke. Nachos, hot dogs, sno-cones, cookies, cotton candy, popcorn, and drinks will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Barnes also advised to “bring your coolers, blankets and chairs, and get there early to reserve your spot for the fireworks show.”
Huntsville Fire Chief Tom Grisham also encourages residents to take advantage of the free and safe fireworks display at the Kate Barr Ross event.
Chief Grisham said, “The use, transport and purchase of fireworks within the City limits is against City ordinance, and it’s a Class C misdemeanor if our residents are caught transporting or using them.”
No alcohol or glass bottles will be allowed at the event.
