Maximum Guaranteed Price for New County Jail Approved

Walker County Commissioners got together for a regular session Monday morning. One of the major agenda items under consideration centered on approving the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the construction of the new county jail.

Jail Architect Kenny Burns and Sedalco Construction’s Jared Hicks were on hand to talk with commissioners. Burns submitted the price to commissioners….

County Auditor Patricia Allen expressed some reservations about the wording of the the contingency spending section of the contract, so commissioners approved an amendment to further clarify cost regulation for that aspect of construction.

Architect Ken Burns further expressed his confidence in the finalized maximum price . . . .

Commissioners approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new jail is set for Wednesday, December 19th, at 10 AM on FM 2821.
