In Huntsville Police news, on Friday’s night shift a vehicle was reported burglarized in the 200 block of FM 247. An aggravated assault was investigated at the corner of I-45 North and Avenue S–a possibly known suspect assaulted a victim, causing serious injury, and stole their vehicle.

On the day shift Saturday, police were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 2100 block of Sycamore Avenue where an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence, sexually assaulted the victim, and took property. A residential burglary was reported in the 1500 block of Woodland Valley.

On Saturday’s night shift, a residential burglary was investigated in the 7100 block of Smither. A vehicle burglary was investigated in the 1300 block of Smither Drive. In the 700 block of Hickory Drive, a 23-year-old man was arrested on a warrant of aggravated sexual assault of a child. In the 600 block of Hayman, a 26-year-old woman was arrested for criminal trespass, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.

On Sunday’s night shift, a residential burglary was investigated in the 200 block of Elmwood. In the 1600 block of Sycamore, a known suspect assaulted a public servant–the suspect was extremely intoxicated and was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for treatment. And, a 29-year-old man was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the 300 block of Bowers Boulevard.
