Forty-year-old Robert Wayne Harris–who confessed to murdering five people in an Irving, Texas car wash in March of 2000–was executed by lethal injection Thursday night at the Walls Unit in Huntsville.
A few hours before his execution, the U-S Supreme Court had denied his appeals. A few of Harris’ friends were on hand, along with his brother, who asked to leave before the procedure was over. Several friends and relatives of Harris’ victims were present.
Harris is the eighth prisoner in Texas to be executed this year.
