Temporary Closure of Old Colony Road at State Highway 19

Published on June 04, 2012 by Larry Crippen

Today, the Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will temporarily close Old Colony Road at State Highway 19. A signed detour will be in place to direct traffic to each side of Old Colony Road. This closure will allow the contractor to rebuild Old Colony Road on both the east and west sides of State Highway 19 and construct the State Highway 19 proposed northbound main lanes. This closure is expected to last three weeks.

This is part of the $14.3 million dollar construction project contracted to Smith & Company out of Conroe. The completed project will consist of four-lane highway improvements on State Highway 19, including exit and entrance ramps from I-45 North to State Highway 30. The project has an expected completion date of the summer of 2013.
