The last day to register to vote in the November 6th, 2012 General and Special election is Tuesday, October 9th at 5:00 p.m., and citizens are encouraged to take the required steps before the deadline. This date has been extended since Monday, October 8th, is a holiday.
According to County Election Officer Diana McRae, citizens who wish to register to vote may come to the Walker County Annex, Voter Registration-Elections Department Room 114, and register to vote by completing a voter registration application. The application is available in English and Spanish. While there, citizens can receive additional information about the election process, early voting dates and times, and receive a sample ballot, as well.
Voter registration applications are also available in English and Spanish at City Hall located at 1212 Avenue M. Citizens may also access the City’s election page through the City’s website at www.huntsvilletx.gov.
