A woman from Walker County and an eight-year-old child were injured in a two-car accident following an illegal U-turn by an allegedly drunk driver Wednesday night.
A Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 18-year-old Addison Weiss, was headed south of Highway 75 around 9:30 in the evening when Weiss tried to make a u-turn onto David Street and collided with a Malibu following her. Officers arrested Weiss. She is charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle, which is a third degree felony.
The injured woman, a passenger in the Malibu, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston in serious condition. The 8-year-old child, also a passenger in the Malibu, was treated and released from Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston. The driver of the Mailibu was treated and released from Huntsville Memorial. The driver of the Tahoe was not injured
