Bank Robbery & Attempted Break-in in New Waverly

Friday, law enforcement investigators were looking for an armed man who robbed the First Victoria Bank in New Waverly.

Wearing a disguise, the man forced a bank employee inside the bank and stole an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.

The man’s face was covered during the incident, but he was believed to be between six-feet and six-foot-four and weighs between 200 and 220. He took off from the robbery in a blue Toyota RAV4 license plate DJ8R192.  He’s considered armed and dangerous.

If you have information about the robbery or the stolen vehicle, call the Sheriff’s Office at 435-2400.

Also, According to law enforcement officials Friday morning, Kiarra Lashaun Maxey, Darron Leondre Kelly, and Justin Michael Roy were caught trying to break into a convenience store in New Waverly in the 9000 block of Highway 75 South.

Walker County Sheriff’s Officers responded to an alarm around 5:30 in the morning Friday. The three were taken to the Walker County Jail on charges of attempted burglary of a building.
