Charter Review Committee Meets

Published on June 11, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Huntsville’s City Charter Review Committee will meet for two successive meetings–this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon at five at City Hall.

After meeting for several months to look at possible improvements to the City Charter–the committee will, by the close of Wednesday’s meeting–have a proposed list of recommendations to be presented at the June 18th City Council session.

Some of the suggestions include change of council member representation, term limits, residency requirements, and age restrictions. In this afternoon’s meeting, committee members will focus on issues involving personal interest in city contracts.
