City Charter Amendments Approved for Ballot

At the regular Huntsville City Council meeting Tuesday night, six of eight Charter Review Committee recommendations were agreed upon to be put before voters in November.

Charter amendments to be offered for voter consideration include providing alternatives for council meetings other than City Hall, clearing up qualified voter requirements on annexation, whether or not employee grievances would still be presented in front of the council, bond sales, new issuance of debt without the vote of citizens, and report reading at council meetings.
