The 2013 City Charter Review Committee got together last night to discuss various issues covered in the document. Issues discussed included length of councilmember terms, accepting citizen input, municipal boundaries, and councilmembers’ roles in personnel decisions.
The public may submit questions in writing to the committee, and citizens will be allowed to voice their concerns during at least one meeting before any changes to the Charter would be made. Following their meetings, the committee could recommend changes to the Council.
The Council is responsible for finalizing any changes and calling for a special November election.
