City Council Meets Tonight

The Huntsville City Council will meet this evening at six at City Hall for a regular session. Previous to the meeting, at five there will be a workshop on proposals for Charter amendments for the November ballot.

The council will hold a public hearing to receive input on proposals for Charter amendments.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes adoption of the revised Harnessing Huntsville’s Potential Plan and authorizing the City Manager to enter into an interlocal agreement with HISD for the sale of one automobile.

Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” will have a first reading of an amendment to Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances regarding HPD.

Ward #3 Councilmember Allen will discuss statements concerning veterans affairs. Mayor Mac Woodward will talk about a resolution renaming the City of Huntsville Aquatic Center in honor of Frank D. “Poncho” Roberts.

And, City Manager Matt Benoit will file his “Manager’s Report.”
