The Huntsville City Council will meet for a regular session tonight at six at City Hall.

In a workshop before the meeting beginning at 4:30, the council will hear funding requests from non-profit organizations.

On tonight’s “Consent Agenda” is an ordinance creating a limited parking zone on University Avenue between 14th and 15th Streets.

On tonight’s “Statutory Agenda,” councilmembers will discuss the first reading of an ordinance for removal of “stop signs” on Spring Drive at the intersection of Winter Way, and the first reading of an ordinance on “Unreasonably Loud Noises.” The “Statutory Agenda” also includes approval of a shared access easement agreement in regard to Fire Station #2, and discussion on the adoption of eliminating certain benefits in regard to the City of Huntsville Medical Insurance Fund.

Tonight the council will also consider an ordinance calling for a special election to vote on the adoption or rejection of proposed amendments to the City Charter, and the first reading of an ordinance amending an ordinance to redistrict the City’s wards.

City Manager Matt Benoit will file a report on his recommended fiscal year 2013-14 budget.
