City Council Meets at Five

The Huntsville City Council will meet at City Hall at five this evening to give local citizens time to attend National Night Out events.

Tonight, there will be a public hearing to amend the Huntsville Development Code on Historic Preservation.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes the adoption of an ordinance to amend the Capital Improvement Projects budget and acceptance of an award of $2,337 from the Department of Justice Bullet Proof Vest Program.

During tonight’s “Statutory Agenda,” IT Director Chris Vasquez will discuss possible action related to purchasing hardware and services for upgrades to the City’s network infrastructure including warranty extensions, and the annual purchase of PC’s and servers which are due for replacement. Also on the same agenda, Director of Economic and Community Development Aron Kulhavy will discuss possible action on an Inter-Local Agreement with the County for participation in the East Mosley Lane Reconstruction Project and the first reading of the adoption of an ordinance to amend the Huntsville Development Code on Historic Preservation.

The council may also hear the City Manager’s Report.
