The Huntsville City Council will meet for a regular session at six this evening at City Hall.
The council will hear more presentations and proclamations tonight than usual in recognition of a number of conscientious citizens.
There will be a public hearing tonight in reference to the Huntsville Development Code regarding lot standards–a first reading of an ordinance will be considered later in the evening.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes amending an ordinance on “Alarm Systems,” amending a section of the Texas Employee Policy and Procedures Manual on “Reduction in Force,” and a resolution in support of a Victims’ Service Coordinator Grant application.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes entering into a 3-year agreement with the CitySupport company for alarm management services on a revenue-sharing basis, submitting an application to HGAC for a Homeland Security grant for $131,214 dollars, the first reading of the awarding of a bid for the Safe Routes to School Project, and the awarding of a construction contract for the Main Street Sidewalk Project for $157,000 dollars.
Tonight, Mayor Mac Woodward will discuss possible approval of an ordinance to update the City Council Rules of Procedure. City Manager Matt Benoit will file his regular report.
