The Huntsville City Council will meet for a regular session at City Hall at six this evening.
Tonight the Council will hear a proclamation honoring the Sam Houston State University Bearkat Football program.
The Council will hold a public hearing on the City’s Fair Housing Activity Statement and to receive input from Huntsville residents.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes a second reading of an ordinance granting Montgomery Gas Transmission a franchise to lay a gas line within the city limits right-of-way to serve Paver’s Supply for a period of ten years.
Several items are on tonight’s “Statutory Agenda.” Director of Community and Economic Development Aron Kulhavy will make a presentation in regard to enclosing an existing balcony at 1105 12th Street in the Downtown District. City Attorney Leonard Schneider will discuss for possible action an ordinance authorizing participation with other Entergy service area cities in matters concerning Entergy Texas at the Public Utility Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Interim Finance Director Steve Ritter will talk about authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of nine vehicles as listed on the Vehicle Replacement Schedule for Fiscal Year 2012-13 for a total of $252,400 dollars.
Also tonight, Mayor Mac Woodward will discuss establishing a Charter Review Committee this year. There may be possible action to nominate an informal committee for annual review of the City Council Rules of Procedure. Councilmember Lydia Montgomery will give an annual update from the Personnel Committee.
The City Manager will also file his report.
