City Council Meets Tonight

Published on March 05, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The Huntsville City Council meets for a regular session this evening at six at City Hall. Previous to the regular meeting, there will be a workshop session at five in the Large Conference Room focusing on updates to the City Council Rules of Procedure.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes approval of the purchase of a 1/2-ton extended cab pickup, and a 3/4-ton extended cab pickup, and cancellation of a previous order.

Items to be considered on tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” include authorization of the City Manager to request participation in the HOME Investment Partnership Program Reservation System with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and an engineering contract with Klotz and Associates for the budgeted Town Creek Horse Branch Tributary Watershed Study.

Tonight, the council will have a discussion of the proposed updates to the Rules of Procedure, and City Manager Matt Benoit will file his regular report.

The council will also meet in closed “Executive Session” tonight for deliberation regarding an economic development negotiation involving a project and to receive legal advice on negotiations and contracts.
