Walker County Commissioners will meet at the Courthouse for a regular session at 9 this morning.
County Clerk Kari French will update the 83rd Legislative Regular Session’s House and Senate Bills affecting County Clerk’s Office State Fees effective in September and will discuss updated fees for the County Clerk’s office.
County Auditor Patricia Allen will discuss for approval payment to Sedalco, the construction company for the new jail, $1,111,424 dollars from budgeted funds. Ms. Allen will also discuss for approval a payment of $19,120 dollars from budgeted funds to jail architect Burns Architecture.
Purchasing Agent Mike Williford talk about approval of an agreement with the State of Texas Department of Information Resources, TEX-AN, for long distance service to significangly reduce the long distance rates.
Precinct #2 Commissioner Ronnie White will discuss the possible approval of several Right-of-Way issues
County Judge Danny Pierce will talk about approval of an order for the “Creation of Tax Abatement Reinvestment Zone Number One” and approval of an order for “Amending Prior Redistricting Orders” and the adoption of related official maps.
Commissioners will also have a “Budget Workshop.”
Tax Assessor-Collector Diana McRae will discuss with Commissioners approval of a polling place for Precinct #2, approval of November 5th election items–such as poll locations, appointment of election judges, and an Early Voting Ballot Board Judge–and approval of a Joint Election Agreement and Election Services Contract. Ms. McRae will also update the Court on the New Photo I-D Law for Texas Voters.
