Walker County Commissioners will get together for a regular session this morning at nine at the Courthouse.
This morning’s “Consent Agenda” includes the approval of donating used bulletproof vests to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department.
Commissioners will hear an update on construction of the new County Jail.
Items to be considered on today’s “Statutory Agenda” include the addition to the contract with Montgomery County Forensic Services for external autopsies to be performed at a reduced rate of $900 dollars, the purchase of a gun safe, payment to County Jail architect Burns Architecture for $17,000 dollars from budgeted funds, and payment of a claim to jail construction company Sedalco for $1,213,640 dollars from budgeted funds.
County Purchasing Agent Mike Williford will discuss for approval a flood insurance policy for the Walker County Annex Building for a premium of $2,878 dollars annually to be paid from budgeted funds and approval of notice of intent to issue a Certificate of Obligation for one-half the purchase price of $213,500 dollars for a new Mustang-Cat Excavator for Precinct #1. The remaining half to be paid from budgeted funds.
Commissioners will also consider an Order for “Redistricting.”
