Commissioners’ Court Meets Today

Walker County Commissioners will meet this morning at nine at the courthouse for a regular session.

This morning’s “Statutory Agenda” includes discussion by Cheryl Morris of the approval of an additional six months of salary for the Jail IT Analyst. Sheriff’s Office Operations Bureau Captain Tim Whitecotton will talk about approval of the Texas Attorney General Chapter 59 Asset Forfeiture Report. Tax Assessor Collector Diana McRae will discuss the use of postage funds for the Voter Registration mass mail-out.

County Purchasing Agent Mike Williford will talk about approval of a contract for a Motorola Dispatch Communications Equipment upgrade to be paid from budgeted funds and approval of an agreement with Centurylink for a bundled communications rate to be paid from budgeted funds.

Planning and Development Director Andy Isbell will hold public hearings and discuss several land re-plat issues.

Commissioners will also discuss approval of the revision of a contract between Walker County and volunteer fire departments.

Another Commissioners meeting will follow at 11:30 where the District Attorney’s office will discuss approval of the Texas Attorney General’s Chapter 59 Asset Forfeiture Report.

County Auditor Patricia Allen will discuss approval of payment to R.B. Everett for $48,796 for the Broce Broom from budgeted funds upon completion of audit and receipt of paperwork. She will also discuss payment of $4,250 to CapRisk Consulting Group for actuarial valuation for postemployment benefits other than pensions for fiscal year 2012.

Also noted on the agenda is to record in the minutes a Commissioners Court request that the County Auditor conduct the audit required by Article 59.06 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
